Theme Design Guidelines
Theme is “Celebrate Trees in Our Community”
Students will create a poster that reflects understanding of the important role that trees play in our community and how they can be celebrate.
Things to consider for your poster design:
o Ways in which trees can be celebrated in your community.
o Why trees are important to your community.
Eligibility Requirements
Grade 5 students.
One entry per school or home school.
Living in the State of Colorado
Submission Requirements
Must be an original artwork created by the student.
Entry deadline is April 5, 2011.
Entries may be submitted in person or mail to:

Write name, age, grade, address and contact phone number on back of poster in pencil.
First and last name must be written in the lower right hand corner on the front of the poster.
You may only enter once.
Entries may be done in marker, crayon, paint pens, watercolor, ink, acrylic, colored pencil, and/or tempera paint.
Entry size must be 14" x 18" or 12" x 18".
Entries must be done on paper that will allow for duplication, display, and framing.
The poster must be related to the contest theme.
The poster theme name “Celebrate Trees in our Community” must be on the poster.
Care should be taken with how the entry is posted to ensure the poster does not get damaged.
Special Note: Entries are the property of the Colorado Tree Coalition and will not be returned.
Not Accepted
´ Collages. Do not glue anything on your poster.
´ Computer or photo generated art and/or printing is not acceptable.
´ Should not display names of commercial products, companies or organizations.
´ Entries should not be matted, mounted, laminated, framed, or folded.
